"*PLEASE NOTE, THESE ARE PURE CHROME TYPE 2 CASSETTES - IF YOU HAVE A DECK CALIBRATED TO FERRO COBALT TYPE 2 (LIKE TDK SA) YOU WILL NEED TO CALIBRATE TO THESE CASSETTES TO GET THE BEST RESULTS*" Tony Villa
Many cassettes say "Chrome POSITION", but don't use chrome tape at all. BASF developed the first Chromium Dioxide "Chrome" tape and patented the technology. Most of the other manufacturers didn't want to licence it, so their Type II tapes are cobalt doped ferric, hence Chrome POSITION.
This BASF tape however is a chrome tape. So what does that mean sonically? Well, they don't take a lot of signal, record these at no more than 0db. So that will mean that they're hissy? Not at all, the benefit of a pure chrome tape is low hiss and brilliant reproduction, even at lower recording levels.
Many decks that you can't manually adjust the recording level and bias on don't like these tapes, as they've been set up to use the likes of the TDK SA. But if you can, and you take the time to calibrate the deck to use these tapes, you'll find they're one of the best ever made. We love them.
This is from when they were at the top of their game." Tony Villa

This is the "Large Window" version. Made in France for the North American market.

NOTE 1: 90 Minutes: These are essentially box-fresh tapes with the odd one having the smallest blemish or two, and not worth noting, especially when they have been around for ~40 years.

Between 1990 and 2005, the company invested €5.6 billion in Asia, for example in sites near Nanjing and Shanghai, China and Mangalore in India.

BASF is listed on the Frankfurt Stock ExchangeLondon Stock Exchange, and Zurich Stock Exchange. The company delisted its ADR from the New York Stock Exchange in September 2007. The company is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index.[7][8]
