SONY Chrome - 1974 - US
I still distinctly remember music enthusiasts referring to the "Chrome" (Type II setting) tapes as the ultimate tape to bring about the best sound reproduction from your Vinyl records. Time always stood still for a few moments whenever someone held a Chrome tape in their hands. It was... quite magical then! Probably even more so than today's "Youts" holding the very latest Apple iPhone (or equivalent) these days in their hands.
You knew someone was about to record a very special arrangement of music when someone paid as much as they did back then for a chrome tape. These were part of a very small lot of tapes that seem to have been beautifully stored throughout the years. I don't believe they will disappoint in any way, but if I had to guess, being an NOS tape from 1972, most will opt to collect them instead of recording on them, but to each his own! Check out our TDK
A true classic, well made, and a super nostalgic Sony cassette. The price reflects their rarity. Also, no on-line catalogue has an "exact" reference to these tapes. These have some slight differences not found anywhere else for exact comparison.
NOTE 1: Simply Enjoy having one! Only 3 available! Yes, only one at a time! Sorry! These are not expected to ever show up again... Think about it, 50 years ago, someone bought these and throughout half a century opted not to open them up! It screams RARE as... well, you know the rest!
